Artist's Comments

Edit: February 8th, 2007 - An important message from the artist regarding this picture.

It has come to my attention that this picture is being used as a banner to support "Geminishipping", which is a "pairing" involving Bakura, the thief version, with Bakura, the dark spirit version. This has been done without my prior knowledge, thus without my permission. My signature and watermarks had also been removed from the picture and it has been passed around to a number of clubs and used as links.

This picture was not made to represent this "pairing", or any sort of pairing at all. As indicated by the description and the picture itself, Bakura is looking at himself in the mirror; two different versions of himself. It is not a picture of two people staring longingly at each other through a pane of glass, or what other romantic notion someone must have thought when they first saw this picture. It's one soul, two different periods of time. There is only one person in this picture and I had hoped that it represented a sense of confusion Bakura had over his own identity, as indicated by the series. Apparently there are those out there who didn't see it the same way.

We now return to the previous picture description already in progress.

--

All was darkness surrounding him, leaving nothing but himself, yet he could see perfectly within it, as he always could. The reason why he could see nothing but blackness and his own body was because there was simply nothing else to see.

Suddenly he caught a glimpse of silver out of the corner of his eye and turned to see something amidst the unending black. A gleaming silver mirror stood alone, shining light from its reflective surface despite the impossibility of it, as if beckoning him.

Upon approaching the mirror he found that nothing reflected upon its beautiful silvery gleaming surface; not the darkness or even him. As he contemplated the mystery behind the mirror, he reached out to touch it, and only then did it yield an image.

But could the man in the mirror really be his reflection?

Yes, I'm back, with a new oekaki picture! Whoot! It even has a nice little bit of writing to go with it! Of course it's none other than of Bakura, for I must master drawing him in all his glory! (And I also want to master drawing him in hentai positions with Malik. ;P) Before anyone comments on it, I did NOT forget Bakura's Millennium Ring. Also, as a note, this pic may or may not have to do with the Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic :iconneonmouko: and I are writing about Bakura and Malik in Ancient Egypt. I'm not saying which~! ;P

Yes, I'm back and I'm already plugging me and Neon's fics. Haven't you missed it? ;3

Oooh! Pretty! I really love your oekaki style, it's so crisp. I especially like your cel-shading, because it looks like you actually thought about where to put all the shading boundaries, unlike myself who just slaps shading wherever the hell. XD

Do or do not, there is no try.
-Yoda :yoda:
Very cute style! I wonder, how long did it take you to finish this picture?
It took me about a week, though that was because I was sick and because I kept looking up screenshot references of both Bakuras. I believe the oekaki I did this clocked me on over 800 minutes total.
