Artist's Comments

As most of you who watch me or at least have visited my gallery before (or even took a look at my gallery), know that my Never Forgiven oekaki is my most popular picture in comments, favorites, and views. [link] Having so many people love it and keep coming by to add more favorites and comments to it just blows me away, even though it's not my best picture anymore and over time I kept seeing things that I wanted to change.

I think you can all see where I'm going with this.

Today was the last day of the first convention that I've been an artist at the artist's alley showcasing my art, and I improved upon this picture, adding more to it and basically trying my best to make it look as fantastic as possible. Now that the convention's over and I've finished flashing my pictures to the cosplaying masses (and I took plenty of pictures of my favorite ones), now I shall post this picture for everyone to enjoy. Personally I am rather pleased with what I was able to accomplish here. X3

For those of you that don't care to click on the [link] to see how this picture used to look when it was an oekaki, I shall do a brief description of the picture itself here. This picture was done thanks to inspiration that came from writing Aurora [link] with :iconneonmouko: (even though at that time it hadn't been posted yet), and at the time it was originally going to be a romantic picture involving both Bakura and Malik (as that's the main topic of Aurora), but it decided to become something different. Bakura's and, really, the fate of all who lived in Kuru Eruna was a horrible tragedy. What makes it even more tragic is that many details on Bakura's perspective were left out even in the anime, even though almost every villain, especially the major villains, get a good amount of time to detail their tragic pasts and why they did what they did. Hell, even Akunadin got more time to go into his past than Bakura! And Bakura was THE main villain in the series even if Zork was the end boss. There was so much there that could be done: a little expansion on his childhood, what happened after the massacre, when he figured out that the Pharaoh was responsible and wanted vengeance against him and prince Atemu, or even his relationship with the spirits but... they just didn't want to for some reason. Maybe they decided to drop the theme of humans not being irredeemably evil. Still... it just wasn't fair. They at least owed him more time to show the person that he was even if he would be denied redemption or forgiveness in the end...

For those of you who think someone as "evil" or badass as Bakura couldn't possibly cry, well, I have to say, after a while of holding back on stress and injustice long enough, there can and will be points where the weight of it all will break you down, even if for just a little while. His life was so unfair that he never had a chance to be saved or turn out differently... You can imagine just how much weight Bakura was carrying...

You're gonna carry that weight.

Ooooh, wooow, that does look 100 times more beautiful! It really has a lot more emotion. Damn, heh.

If it's alright, I will be replacing the older version of this and putting this in my favorites instead...'cause it looks so freaking awesome!

That's what she said.
:icontouzoku-joou:
OOh, yeah! It does look more awesome! =D I love it! I'll fav this one as well. Hey, faving the thing twice never hurt anyone...

lurve it ^^ and believe me, I hate the word "lurve". If I say it, it must be VERY awesome. Kind of like when (if) I say "kawaii"... (>.<;)

Why not keep both in your favorites? It's not hurting anything having many favorites or even different versions of the same pic. ;P (I should know, I have almost 700 about now).

I do think it has improved since it was an oekaki.
The lines are softer now, and there is just something I can't find words to explain. >.>

This is definitely my favorite thing of yours. Go me, follow the masses. XD

I've been thinking of getting an art table this year, but I don't actually think I'll go through with it for a few reasons that I won't annoy you with by listing them. ^^;
But maybe I'll do it. I dunno. How'd it go for you?
